The short version
  • We prefer primary and official sources, identify details that can change, and correct errors when they are found.
  • Time-sensitive facts — ferry seasons, train and flight times, visa rules, park fees, festival dates — are flagged to verify rather than frozen into the prose.
  • Recommendations are editorial and independent: no payment for inclusion, no affiliate links, no commission.

Who writes and edits these guides

ThailandHop's guides are written, edited and maintained by The ThailandHop editorial team. Compiled and maintained by the ThailandHop editorial team from official sources and public data. A review date appears only after that page has been checked. We don't accept payment for inclusion.

Each page carries a visible organizational byline. A review date appears only when that specific page has been checked; an undated page should not be read as having been reviewed on the site's latest deployment date.

How we research and fact-check

We use official tourism boards, operator timetables and public data — including the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the State Railway of Thailand, ferry and airline operators, national-park authorities and immigration authorities. A generic agency or operator link is a planning resource, not proof of every nearby sentence; where a precise claim matters, we aim to link the specific official guidance. We prefer cautious, evergreen framing over false precision.

We separate the durable from the perishable. The shape of the Andaman and Gulf coasts, the story of Ayutthaya, the founding of the great Bangkok temples — these are stable, so we state them plainly. Visa rules, ferry seasons, train and flight schedules, national-park fees, Maya Bay access and festival dates such as Songkran and Loy Krathong change with the season and the year, so we flag them to verify on the day and point to the official source. We give honest estimates where a figure is genuinely contested, rather than a false precision.

Independence and corrections

Recommendations are editorial. We accept no payment for inclusion and earn no commission on the boats, flights, hotels, restaurants or tours we mention; there are no affiliate links here, and if that ever changes we will say so plainly on the page. Photography is either our own or used under licence with attribution.

We re-check time-sensitive details as pages are reviewed and record a page-level review date only after that review. Deployments and shared-code changes do not re-date the whole site. If you spot an error — a moved pier, a renamed resort, a visa rule that has changed — tell us and we'll investigate and correct it. Reader corrections are one of the main ways the guide stays accurate between reviews.
